Sign up for Kids Voting Durham 2020 Elections with your classroom or schools.  As you know, Kids Voting gives your students the opportunity to vote on the same candidates as adults this fall, and give teachers the tools and resources to engage their students in elections in grade-appropriate ways that are tied to both Common Core ELA standards and the NC standards for social study in each grade.  Best of all, Kids Voting Durham remains a FREE resources for all Durham schools, teachers, and youth thanks to the support of Durham County.

In response to the new learning environment, this fall KVD will offer:

  •  An ALL ONLINE ballot for students to cast their vote with customizable Canvas shells and Nearpod modules to present voting to students online and the option of having a trained KVD Voting Outreach worker present voting online to your class in real time if you choose.  You will receive Election results for your school, as well as kids in Durham, NC and the US the evening of Election Day.
  • An online, interactive KVD 2020 Election Guide with information on candidates, issues, offices to be elected voting written by youth, for youth
  • Distance-learning friendly lessons in Canvas and Nearpod on Evaluating Candidates and the Importance of Voting from KVD along with curated distance learning modules from other civic education programs such as Facing History, Mikva, ICivics, and more.
