TOOLS FOR TEACHING RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP
Kids Voting Durham offers a wide array of resources to support education
on active citizenship, democracy, and elections in the classroom and other
learning settings, such as youth groups, after-school programs, and home
schools.
Educators can:

- Offer an in-school voting opportunity to your students. Kids
Voting Durham will provide materials (including ballots and
voting booths) and training to any Durham County K-12 schools
that wish to hold any authentic voting experience for their
students in this November’s Mayoral and City Council
Elections. Contact us or

- Download the Kids Voting Teachers’ Guide for tips on
getting your students excited about their role as citizens. COMING
SOON: a 2007 Durham Election Guide for Educators. Durham’s
upcoming Mayoral and City Council Elections are the ideal opportunity
to help your students become aware of local issues and key
electoral offices.
- Get Kids Voting training. Kids
Voting will provide
training on its curriculum and civics education activities
to group of educators from K-12 schools and home schooling
